I don't know how accurate these meters are but at least they can be calibrated to the level you'll be interested in. Thick wires are for the current. Thin yellow for measuring voltage and thin red and black for the powering the device itself. If you want to use the same power source for the meter that you are also measuring don't use the thin black wire and instead measure current from the 0V lead and connect thin red wire to somewhere that has 4-30V and the yellow to what point you want to measure voltage from (it will use the thick black as other lead). You'll burn the meter if you try to measure current from higher potential and connect the thin black to a lower potential.

Works fine . Two calibrating trimmers on rear one for Voltage one for current. Had to turn one to the lowest stop to get current measurement to some degree of accuracy. Voltage slightly better accuracy. If you require absolute accuracy do not use. But for the price it is good value.

The pros are straight forward. Appears to be good quality and value. Delivery and initial vendor contact satisfactory. Voltage readings fine. The cons are twofold. First the current reading is hopelessly inaccurate. The minimum detectable current by specification is 20 mamps. My device required 150mamps to detect and then showed 1 mamps on the meter. As current is increased , a true current of 450 mamps read 280 mamps. I tried to talk to supplier to determine if I had a rogue meter to no avail. I was offered a replacement, but I had to buy another meter with a convoluted payback system that I did not understand. If the vendor really wanted to help on the basis I had a”bad” one, an immediate replacement would have been welcomed. So rather than buy another one I gave up. Great pity, because I think that this device would be a great product, if performance anywhere close to specification.Read full review

Just what I have been looking for. I did remove the shunt on the ammeter, and replace it with a 51 ohm resistor. This makes it a 100micro amp meter, this I made into a speedo, and it will read over 10.0. and the 'A' can be removed with a little care, and replaced with a rub down white 'S'. the only downside is the lack of cut out, and wiring information with the meter.

This DC volt - amp meter is ideal and perfect for, power supply project use. I've used mine now and others for years and find them very reliable & easy on the eyes with or without glasses.
