American Dad seems to have divided a lot of opinion. I received the first season as a gift from a friend, and was originally sceptical about the layout- a family, with some odd pets, in Anywhere USA. Sounds like Family Guy... But it's not. I religiously devoured the first, second and third seasons and then promptly ran out of money before I could get the 4th season. Now money has returned, I have been put out of my misery and have watched the entire of season 4 in one go. It's as original, unique and hilarious as all the other seasons. It relies on slightly skewed time shrinking (suddenly, a new shot is a few weeks later, sometimes months), but it works well for the programme, as anyone who will remember 'Tears Of A Clooney' will know. The consistency of each episode is what makes it so fantastic. The usual circular narratives remain (Steve never quite 'getting boob', Stan and Francine remaining true to each other despite Stan's paranoia), but they are comprehensively rethought and played upon. I have high hopes for season 5. With a little luck, it'll be another gem. Dismiss this programme at your peril!Read full review
Ever since Family Guy I have been a fan of Seth Mcfarlane's work and out of Family Guy, American Dad and The Cleaveland Show, my favourite is definatly a tight squeeze between American Dad and The Cleaveland Show, this DVD offered me hours of humour and laughs in those dsperate times when there really is nothing good on TV, I loved every second of it and all of it's special features too, I highly recommend this to anyone who is a fan of Seth Mcfarlane's work
It says it all in the title, this is probably the best season of American Dad to date. At it's peak this series is full of laughs and excellent one-liners. For my money this series knocks Family Guy off the top of the mountain, American Dad is the new number one in adult cartoon comedies.
Very good boxset, great characters and political satire, would reccomend to any fan of American Dad, Family guy or other adult comedy, gold.
Having converted most of my old video collection to DVD I was thrilled to find this film gem in digital format. If you watch this in widescreen format, it really does the battle scene great justice; coupled with surround sound, you'll be gripped by the amazing cinematography. I would recommend the director's cut that includes scenes about the relationship between the lead character and his estranged wife and helps you to understand the motivation behind his decision. The run time is 183 minutes for the directors cut and 120 minutes for the cinema version. I was, however, disappointed by the lack of extras, which any fan of this classic would expect to be included. There's only a 20-minute interview with the director and other shot "making-of" vignettes.
another quality series of the american animation series cant wait for more will go well with fans of family guy
good mornin usaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa .just fantastic nearly as good as family guy ,but when youve seen all the family guys you sort of get drawn to american dad same humour crackin
