Sapphire and Steel Are Assigned
I had the Sapphire and Steel DVD from Carlton, which was a bit disappointing in picture quality. This series was mainly shot on video from the late 1970's and blurring known as video "lagging" was the main problem. I bought the series again from Network who have eradicated this problem and the overall picture quality is much better. There are different extras too like interviews with some of the cast and crew and some nice behind the scenes photos. Also a sturdy plastic box with the 6 discs replaced two flimsy cardboard ones previously. Yes, good value for money and now Network is no more, I'm pleased to still find a copy of this enigmatic series. Sapphire and Steel isn't for everyone, but you can't deny that Joanna Lumley looks great in her various outfits. Also watching an assignment in one go, instead of as a serial on TV broken up into half a hour episodes, adds to the enjoyment and, hopefully a bit more understanding of each show.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Entertaining and good value.
I bought this DVD because I had never watched this series on television. I love Joanna Lumley in everything she does, so felt I had to see her in this. Very nostalgic for me, because of the production style. It was clearly of its time. I thoroughly enjoyed watching the young Joanna, and the plots were, by today's standards, quaint and naive.
