This was George Formby's third feature film, and by far the best up to that point! His first two, co-starring his wife Beryl (a dancer) had been clumsy, poorly-directed, badly acted and not very well-written, either - though a MUST for any Formby fan to watch at least once! This film, however, had got the formula right at last! A cracking good story, well acted, with good continuity, suspense and comedy - and a proper actress for a leading lady - with Alastair Sim thrown in for good measure as the crooked lawyer! I loved it - and so will you!
