THE CHILDREN deftly combines the unsettling realism of low-budget 1970's British horror, with the visceral savagery and shocks of the glossy updated genre. Working with the tried and tested theme of 'mummy's darling turned evil hellspawn' that made VILLIAGE OF THE DAMED and THE OMEN such chilling classics, writer/director Tom Shankland's film exploits the modern SUPERNANNY generation, indulgently obsessed with child behaviour. The story takes place at Christmas time, with two middle-class families gathered together to share in the festivities. But the peace doesn't last, as slowly their children succumb to a strange illness and start to bring death and destruction to the people who gave them life.

    A very creepy film

    If you don’t like kids your probably run a mile from them after watching The Children. An excellent horror film and it’s British. It keeps the pace and quessing right up until the very end. If your a fan of horror films it’s well worth a look if you not seen it

    Horrible little darlings.

    Film is ok, esp if you see it for the first time,entertaining enough. But not a horror in my wide experience. I've literally sat through thousands of the genre,and some are 'Turkeys' to say the least, very few thrill me and even less scare me, but if you find little kids going feral fun then this movie is for you. I've seen way worse films with children as the main antagonists. So give it a go. You might not watch it again,or or may become a fav... You decide.
