Comedy starring Diane Keaton as an overbearing mother. Noah Cooper (Dax Shepard) has been fired from his job as a physiotherapist, and is under pressure from his wife Clare (Liv Tyler) to start a family. An added irritant is Clare's nerdy, wannabe-screenwriter cousin Myron (Mike White) who has come to stay for a seemingly interminable visit. Just when he thinks things couldn't get any worse, Noah is descended upon by his domineering, meddlesome mother Marilyn (Keaton), who informs him that she has decided to leave her husband, and - along with her five dogs - needs somewhere to stay for a little while.
