A challenging drama about CLAIRE DOLAN (Cartlidge), a New York City call girl who re-evaluates her life when her mother dies. Fleeing her pimp (Meaney), an Irishman to whom she owes an unexplainable debt, Claire lands in Newark, New Jersey, and starts dating Elton Garrett (D'Onofrio). Eventually her pimp tracks her down and pulls her back into her life as a prostitute. When Elton learns of Claire's activities, a serious strain is placed on their relationship. The desire to have a baby provides an even greater reason for her to pay off her debt and go straight once and for all. Kerrigan's follow up to CLEAN, SHAVEN is a meditative, beautifully photographed film.

EXCELLENT EARLY VINCENT D'ONOFRIO FILM.
I found this film to be most entertaining. Even though it was a 90's film Vincent D'Onofrio performance as usual was excellent. So sad that his leading lady Katrin Cartlidge ( Claire ) died shortly after this film was released. Another good actor Colm Meaney who played Claire's pimp portrayed his character well. If you're not already a VDO Fan this is a good film to start with, you will not be disappointed.
