  • Gripping drama that has stood the test of time.

I largely bought The Bill ,Series 4, Volume 3 out of nostalgia as I've not seen many of these episodes since they were first broadcast in the late 80s. The early half-hour episodes really were the cream of the crop, being well written and produced and, most of all, some amazing characters. Watching this series again was like catching up with an old friend. It's dated only in the sense it's a snapshot in time of the 1980s (nostalgia, in other words). As a drama and entertaimnent, with the occasional moments of high comedy, however, it has lost absolutely nothing with the passage of time. Picture quality is reflective of its era, but perfectly acceptable.
