Vitamix 3600 Plus pros / cons
Pro: as robust and powerful as any other VITAMIX UNIT I owned so far (2200, 3600, 3600+) Con: 1. Feed through lid is convenient to add things while running, but it is hard to clean. 2. Spigot is another very hard to clean spot, and I did not find any use for it so far (mostly use unit for making complicated smoothies, sous, and grinding seeds).Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Vitamix 3600 Plus Blender
It’s all there, however, reasonably grimy base unit and the motor brushes smell when running and will need to be replaced. I’ve had many of these no vintage blenders over the years and this one was not “mint” I’m actually using another bases unit that I own that is in better shape. I’m using the pitcher with blades and the top cover, however, the cover gasket was missing. I was able to purchase a replacement gasket online. healthier option
I'm in the process of eliminating plastic from my kitchen. So I was looking for metal. Glass may not be practical for high power blenders. Vitamix Corp sells a metal container for $150. So I though to look on E-bay. However, I didn't think about the reason products change. This old blender container was meant for a different type of blending - with it's own blending technique. It also has a different blade, which doesn't make for fine smoothies. I still get lumps of unblended produce in my smoothies. Because of the spout, it's uses a little more cleaning effort, but not such a big problem. If I was a mechanical person, I would switch out the old blade for the newer style, because I don't need to knead bread - but I don't know if that would really work. I love this machine, it is incomparable. My only gripe is that they made a weak attachment for the chopper and it breaks off, eventually. I've replaced mine twice in the past 10 years, but now they no longer have the replacement part available anywhere. So when it breaks, you are stuck with this awesome machine that is totally unusable because the chopper is broken off and not available to replace. These machines were built to last a lifetime, but the company refuses to honor that by refusing to stock replacements for a part that has been known to break ever since they started selling it. Hence they changed the chopper design. Notice how many "base only" models there are for sale on ebay. Well, that's why. No chopper available. This fact, in my opinion, makes the Vitamix company pretty low on my list of companies that stand behind their products. Too bad someone hasn't manufactured an after market version, or that Vitamix hasn't offered a conversion kit to switch the old models to the newer chopper. And they would not even respond to my emails inquiring about the chopper situation. So, 5 stars for the product, 1 star for the company.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

My brushes were shot
Replaced my old unit whose brushes were worn out. Swappd out one broken handle and the shaft sprocket from my old unit and it is now as it should be. No sparking or smoking and runs cool. Haven't actually put it to work yet but I'm sure it will be fine. If I could find the motor brushes replacements I would fix my old one too.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned

Love my Vitamixer

Works as intended

Classic blender still a good one
