Cheap as chips!
I only paid about £4-00 for a set of 3 of these butt rests from Lidsters Fishing Supplies Ltd, through their eBay site, so I couldn't really go wrong. I haven't actually tried these butt rests in a fishing situation yet but they look okay. I have a set of 3 Century Fat Boy Slims which, as the name suggests, are built on very slim blanks. These butt rests look like they should be adjustable to the correct width to securely hold the butt end of my rods, even though they're probably the slimmest rod on the market. They look like they're made quite well for a budget item. They're sufficiently padded around the two uprights so that there's no chance of them scratching the varnish on your rods. As I said, I've not had a chance to try them in a real angling scenario so I'm not sure how tightly they'll grip the rod butts. All in all, I think they'll definitely so the job.
