Based on a story by Roald Dahl, "The Witches" is an enchanting fantasy movie full of magic and adventure. In this DVD movie young Luke and his grandmother are staying in a hotel in where a group of child-hating witches are holding their annual convention. When the witches’ fiendish plot to convert all children to mice is overheard by Luke, the Grand High Witch in this fantasy movie transforms him into a mouse. Now it’s up to Luke in "The Witches" to foil the witches' intentions while figuring out a way to become human again. Presenting a black comedy for children and adults alike, "The Witches" DVD movie proves to be wickedly entertaining.

    Best movie ever!

    So excited to receive this favorite witchy classic!! Anjelica Huston serves the best grand high witch ever 1000% I was so inspired by this movie and Anjelica's performance as a young child of the 90's. I wanted to be the grand high witch so bad. I consumed the very essence of Eva Ernst aka grand high witch like a drug. This movie is what really got me started in the interest of witches and witchery.

    Suspenseful!

    This is a great suspenseful movie! It had all of my kids (3 yrs. - 14 yrs.) very engaged at on point I heard them scream from the room. My 3 yr. old twins ran out of the room and called me to stay and watch with them. I also enjoyed this movie. Recommend!

    Comparison of movie to book.

    The Witches movie closely follow the Roland Dahl's book. It is true to the setting and characters and events. There is one big difference and that is the ending, which I think is a much better ending than the book. I have used this book and movie as a Book Club with my 5th graders. They loved both the book and the movie.
