  • This is supposedly high quality?

The saw would not start no matter what I did. I looked up on the internet the service center for this brand. I live in Avon Park Florida. The closest factory authorized service shop is 26.5 miles away, about 45 minutes over some beautiful country roads to a very rural shop by the name of Pauls small engine repair. He is extremely knowledgeable and quite customer oriented. He immediately had one of his servicemen start the routine of trying to start it after draining the fuel I had just place in it and removing the spark plug and checking it for function after blow drying it. It did not produce a spark, he immediately replaced it and after blow drying the cylinder tried to start it. No Go. Remove the plug and discovered the muffler was full of fuel. Removed the muffler and emptied the bottom end of the engine of fuel. placed a hemostat clamp on the fuel line and drained the fuel from the carburetor. Then tried the startup routine with immediate success. Then removed the hemostat clamp and immediatetly the engine flooded and quit. by this point we were all frustrated. I went home and a few days later he called and said that his serviceman had removed and torn down the carburetor 3 times with the same result each time and he felt that it needed a new carburetor. It was 129.00 for a new one. I told him this saw has a 5 year warranty and I felt the factory was responsible. He called his factory rep and there it sits until the rep has time to deal with it. My advice would be to see if a local dealer will service one before I would buy an expensive saw like this one. Your mileage may vary.

This is a powerful excellent saw! It is a little heavier than a Stihl but at half the price and a 5 year warranty, it is well worth the small sacrifice!
