I gambled on a chain saw purchase
Even though this saw was advertised as "for Parts", it looked brand new in the photos. I took a chance that I could figure out what was wrong with it, knowing IF it had good compression, I could probably fix any fuel, or ignition, issues. Sure enough, the LIKE NEW saw arrived and I soon discovered the ignition module was defective. I found a new ignition module for $11, which solved my problem! The saw's very powerful and cuts like a laser! I'm usually not one to gamble, but, that time it was the right thing to do! I do wish it had the owner's manual with it, though. refurb 240 husky
Not a great deal, the poulan I purchased (less than 1/2 of the price) same bar length slightly smaller engine is almost identical as far as the mechanical end goes, same tightener, engine mount, clutch-brake setup, would be almost identical except for the color, but the husky does have a metal side cover instead of plastic. I have a big husky and this small saw is not of the same quality. out of the box the FIRST CUT it would not make a straight cut, cuts off to the left like a bent bar. Husqvarna 240 Chainsaw
This is the worst chainsaw we've ever owned. I thought I purchased it from Lowe's & didn't want to go through the aggravation of returning it. It's very hard to start! No matter how long my husband let's it sit it will not start. It's done this from the beginning. I've been using my neighbor's chainsaw that starts up on 1st pull. I have a lot of trees on my property so it's necessary to keep a working chainsaw handy. I purchased this brand because it was on the top 10 list with great remarks. If I can return this product I would. It hasn't been used but 3 or 4 times since I've bought it. Thing is if you take a waterbreak it will not crank up. That get frustrating! Cuts like butter!
Great saw and perfect for small jobs. However, cut with it for a tank of gas and had some problem restarting. Didn't pinpoint exactly what the cause...perhaps vapor lock? Great Little Machine
Had 12" diameter 60' tree fall onto lot. Bought this chainsaw after friend recommended. Saw came, un-boxed it, filled with bar oil and recommended gas mixture, Used ValvTect gas......no Ethanol in it.
