When a global cataclysm thrusts the world into chaos, divorced writer and father Jackson Curtis (John Cusack) uses his knowledge of the ancient prophecies to ensure that the human race is not completely wiped out. Chiwetel Ejiofor, Danny Glover, Amanda Peet, Thandie Newton, and Oliver Platt round out the cast of this end-of-the-world thriller co-scripted by the director and his 10,000 B.C. writer/composer, Harald Kloser.

GREAT FILM with UNBELIEVEABLE SPECIAL EFFECTS
I must admit I am a fan of Roland Emmerich since Independence Day first appeared. This film has it all - a good cast, not big names but very good actors - and special effects to blow you away! What can be said is that you see where all the money went on the screen and not big bucks for the cast! I chose the BluRay version for obvious reasons, more clarity and DTS audio - it did not disappoint. O.K. at about 2.30 hrs. it`s a long film but there is plenty to keep your attention. Give it a whirl you won`t be disappointed. (Oh yes, the special features last for hours with every detail given how the various scenes were put together!)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Amusing. Over-blown. ‘The Day After Tomorrow’ was a more measured experience - this was stretching credulity to the absolute limit; Both were popcorn movies, so who cares?
