Amazing results and value for money
This replaced an old "Look a Like" Moka Pot, but the extra investment is worth it. Much thicker construction (so coffee stays warmer longer) the handle is easy to use. Labour of Love
Recently bought this item to compare coffee made this way to our filter and coffee pod machines. It’s a great way to experiment with different coffee beans and tweak the amount to achieve the desired taste. This method takes a little longer but it’s a satisfying journey of selecting and grinding the beans and hearing the pot burble away with the smell of fresh coffee in the air. We chose the six cup version which makes just one normal cup, this is described as expresso but even then this would make six very small cups. The pot is not very large so fits and looks nice on the kitchen worktop or shelf. The filter cage is fiddly when removing the used coffee, especially when it’s hot, would have been nice to have a small tab to help lift the item. There is a secondary filter held in place by a rubber washer, it will be interesting to see how this fares in time due to the heat and wear and tear. Overall, the unit produces nicer coffee then pods and filter and is worth the small amount of effort.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great Italian style coffee
Tastes much better than nespresso - and cheaper and more eco. Just old fashioned Italian style coffee from freshly ground beans. A bit more work, but well worth it. Size 6 refers to espresso cups: it makes 2 decent servings. Use a reducer star trivet on a gas ring to keep the pot steady. Fill the base with cold water just to the valve. Fill the basket loosely with ground coffee. Don't overheat. Compost the spent grounds - or just spread on the garden. No plastic waste. Keep the pot clean but don't dishwash. Change the gasket occasionally: this pack helpfully came with 3 spares. Won't work on an induction hob. This is a replacement . Bialetti is the best
Over the years I've had lots of different mocha machines. They all look the same and essentially work the same but they don't perform the same. The Bialetti 4 cup makes just the right amount for a cup of coffee but it's not easy to find. The price I paid on ebay was not much different to a 3 cup so I was happy with the price. The Bialetti is sturdy with a strong handle which can be replaced if you destroy the original. It's well made so it screws up easily and is not so hard to unscrew.
