Fender Highway One Telecaster Electric Guitar

About this product

Product Information

The Fender Highway One Telecaster can be a great electric guitar for any musician. Made in the USA, the Highway One series represents a return to classic Fender construction. The Highway One Tele is made with high quality traditional materials. This is a solid body guitar. The body is made of alder, a wood that has been used by Fender since the 1950s. As a tonewood, alder can contribute to a clear sound and can be a great choice for rock music because the mid and low tones sound great. It can also provide good sustain, which can be a must for any guitar. The fretboards on these Teles are made of either rosewood or maple. A great choice for guitars, maple is sturdy, and it can help achieve ringing high tones while balancing out the lows accentuated by alder. It is smooth and highly playable and features an interesting grain that can look great under a translucent finish. Rosewood can be an excellent tonewood. It is smooth and can contribute to the brightness of the guitar's sound. This is an oilier wood, so it can help the fretboard stand up to the stresses of oils deposited by the player's fingers. In addition to all of its technical virtues, this can also be a great looking wood.Fender put a lot of technical expertise into the design of this Tele. The construction of the neck joint is the same as the build of vintage models. This is a set neck and not a bolt on. The fretboard offers the same silhouette as a true period Tele. It can be very playable and has a comfortable radius that can be easy on the hands. The scale length is 25.5 inches, and there are 22 frets. These are medium jumbos, which can be comfortable even for beginners. The bridge highlights the old 1970s era 3 saddle style. Many musicians prefer the tone this style produces in a guitar to that of the 6 saddle bridge used in later models. The hardware on this Telecaster echoes the classic rock era. The tone controls are by Greasebucket. The pickups are single coil models with alnico magnets. Alnicos are very strong magnets used in consumer goods. They make for reliable and durable gear. They can also help create a smooth and warm tone when used in electric guitar pickups. Single coils are the original type of pickup used in the first electric guitars. They can create a real classic rock feel and produce a recognizable buzz when the volume is turned up loud. In addition to all of these authentic technical features, this Fender Telecaster can offer a style that looks great. The finish is a classic satin nitrocellulose lacquer that can look rich and lustrous. The pickguard is a three ply model in black and white. All of this can create an authentic looking guitar. With the Fender Highway One Telecaster, guitarists can get an American made classic. A user friendly guitar that sounds crisp, this can be a great starter Tele. It has a cool classic rock look and could be a great addition to anyone’s music gear. If you like to rock out in the studio or on stage, you can get a lot of mileage out of the Highway One.

  • Budget friendly American fender guitar.

Over all its a great guitar. The nitrocellulose finish looks nice but wears through quickly. Some might see this as an issue but I like it. The pickups are a little hotter and darker than typical tele pickups, once again, I really like this but other people might not if their after more traditional tele twang. The neck is flat and fast with the jumbo frets. You can bend strings far and hard without worrying about fretting them out. This definitely suits my heavy handed playing style. My only real complaint is how cheap the tuning heads feel. They have considerable play in then with no string tension. Also, the bridge saddles have manufacturering burs on them than can cause strings to break. I took some light grit sandpaper and smoothed them out a little and this helped fix the string breakage. Eventually I'll upgrade to locking tuners and a modern six saddle bridge but for now the guitar does its job and it does it really well. If you're wanting a fender with "USA" on the head stock but don't have $1000+ to spend this is a great option and I highly recommend it.

  • Wonderful instrument

This Fender Telecaster plays like butter. The previous owner did a superb job of modifying it and it shows. It is an excellent guitar.
