  • Identical to the American Version

The Ray 35 is identical to the Musicman Stingray with the exception of a few very minor differences: The finish/feel of the neck, the nut and the tuning keys. These minor differences are not worth the $1000 difference in price IMHO. In a blind test, you wouldn't know the difference if both of these basses were A/B'd next to each other. Remember that the Ray 35 is a LICENSED copy of the Stingray which basically means that it's a Stingray made by another company. I've also noticed that the price of the Ray 35 has gone up to average around $800. If you are looking for an affordable stingray then buy a brand new sterling or either a used Stingray @ $1000 or less.

  • Great bass!!

One of the better basses I have used. Comparable tone to my ibanez sr1405e at more than half the cost.
