Check the pickups...
Be sure to check the pickups on any Dean Pace you may be shopping... Some have pre-amp/active system (needs batteries) others are simply wired to single volume knob from the piezo bridge/saddle pickup. I can only speak to the non-active version - and it requires some TLC to get the sound right - grounding challenges along with outboard EQ from a high impedance pedal/DI. Fun to play and closer to a fretless standard bass than a traditional upright, but sure easier to transport!Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
