The Seagull Coastline Cedar Folk Acoustic-Electric guitar is a concert sized model is based on the dimensions of a classical guitar. The smaller body size enhances the instrument's sound in the mid-range. Godin QI electronics lets you perform in any venue. The Folk is an excellent choice for fingerstyle playing. The guitars that make up the Seagull Coastline series represent one of the world's outstanding values in acoustic guitars. The back and sides of the Coastline series models are made from a three-layer lamination of wild cherry wood. With a sound that lands somewhere between the mellow tone of a mahogany guitar and the bright sound of maple, wild cherry has proven itself to be an excellent tone wood. Grown locally, wild cherry is also an ecologically friendly choice. Coastline series guitars feature very smooth necks made from Silver Leaf Maple. Wonderful guitar!!
To be fair, I knew exactly what I wanted, which was to replace my old Seagull S6 folk guitar. They don't make the folk-size guitar in left handed anymore, so I was delighted to find this one. I teach guitar for a living and just got done teaching a lesson with it. It's easy on the hands (slightly wider neck than most acoustic guitars, which makes it excellent for finger picking) and the balance between the bass notes, treble notes, and those in between is very distinct. It's perfect for both fingerstyle and flatpicking. Also, it gives you incredible volume for its small size. Will probably spend the rest of the day playing it as well! Bangin deal in an acoustic guitar
This instrument has a great voice with a lively, warm, full tone and very playable fret board. Stays in tune for days. Tuners are good for the price. I bought it used, so I cannot comment on setup. This is an older copy, and one of the soundboard braces was loose (dried out glue), but that was an easy fix. Still, a bargain.Verified purchase: Yes
