It offers stunningly accurate noiseless vintage sounds through two Samarium Cobalt Noiseless pickups, as well as new variations through the versatile S-1 switching system. Its highly detailed fret and nut work make it incredibly easy to play. Other features include a bound-top alder body with a comfortably contoured back, abalone dot inlays, and aged plastic parts. S-1 Pickup Switching- Fender s trademarked pickup switching system that allows the guitarist to keep single-coil sounds while eliminating the noises. On most Strat models, when the guitarist selects pickup position 2 (neck and middle pickups) or position 4 (middle/neck), the two pickups are combined with parallel. Amazing feel, great tone
This guitar really is the top of the Telecaster line, the neck feels great in the hand, its fast and precise. The cutaways in the body and behind the neck are a nice addition as well. I play in church primarily and this guitar gives me a great range of tone options. The N3 pickups are not quite as twangy or bright as the American Standard, but it still has that unmistakable Tele sound. The S1 switching gives you almost a mini-bucker sound in the middle position. Comfortable weight and minor re-engineering makes it perfect .
Light , well made legendary guitar that PRS and a zillion others would probably be able to improve on - but I like the challenge of a Fender and a few musicians over the years did ok with theirs haha so I strongly recommend trying one . Don't care for the one setting S-1 pickup position selector - all the other settings sound like a vague boost no matter what amp or pick attack I use . Put some Suhr or Bare Knuckle jobs in there and close your eyes . Like what you hear ? I do ! Sturdy with supple neck
