Blues, rock, metal Overdrive / Distortion Pedal.
Passing info, replacement tube looking for 12AX7 / ECC83 any Ruby Red, made China. Use the pedal alot replace tube within a year, until it fails, sound changes, top of the tube like a mirror gray is good tube. All white, chalk on top of tube, and / or broken tube top tip; bad / blown tube. Replace the tube.
A Marshall, GT (Groove Tubes) or Boguret Amp tubes will work, paying for the name, they're Ruby Red (red printing onto the tube) also. Upgrade & pricey, made in England, give you denser sound how a Marshall Plexi Amp should sound. Works great, SST wouldn't give, that sizzles, gritty, growling sounds the tubes gives. Less tube work on tube on a Tubed Amp. It'll make SST Amp sound like a Tubed Amp. Remember, some other types pedal work well with Tubed Amp, some were designed & enginerred for SST Amps (that what sound engineers are for?). Have, borrow a Joe Bonamassa Copper Wah, works great onto Tubed Amps. Have fun with, learn experience types of tube, changes the sound, made from colors of the shades of grays, darker are denser sound. Don't mess with the milli-Amperage on tube, higher mAmps; unwanted electrical noise disturbances & wear out mAmps regulators to the circuit board on the pedal, the other is the power supply cord, the electrical input is 15 volts make sure it's a 400 mAmps (mA), some people have lost the power cord, use the power brick's 18 volts, in time damage the voltage regulator, serious repairs & money, possibly ruin the pedal.
Late 60's, 70's & 80's AC / DC Angus Young sounds in "Back in Black" album. Very versatile Overdrive / Distortion pedal. The toggle, set up for the lead & rhythm guitar. A keeper. Better than the Seymour Duncan Twin Tube Classic, Blue Tube Pedals, because it soldering to replace their tubes. Thanks for taking the time, extra info replacement, troubleshooting & switch out to get the correct tubes for self maintenance.
