Far better than you'd think for the price
Bought these for a home kit while my good kit is set up elsewhere. I may swap these out for the Sabian AA's on my good kit. If you let them ring for a couple of seconds while open, you get the tiniest hint of brass vs. bronze, but for normal hi-hat work, (chick, quick open/close, half open play) they sound great and have good volume. I'm not a big enough brand snob to let the HCS label keep me from using these out.
