    fabulous fires

I bought these to try out on my newly reinstated open fire grate - I got these mainly because of a shortage of space to store wood, I have only used real logs before. Hugely impressed by the heat level, ease of lighting, lovely flames, long lasting embers and no spitting wood. I thought they would be a poor substitute for a 'proper' log fire but I have been totally won over. I particularly like the fact that they are a way to use waste sawdust from sawmills being both environmentally sound and providing a bonus income for the sawmills. I found it only takes 3 logs to make a decent fire which burns for about an hour and a half leaving glowing embers which can be topped up with extra logs one at a time to keep the flames going - 5-6 for an evening and very little residue ash to clean up the next day. My neighbours all have woodburners and spend as much time cutting and stacking logs as they spend burning them.

Last well good quality and well packed

One of the better heat logs. Last quite a long time. I’ve found cutting them in half makes the best use of them. Then putting half each side of a traditional log. They are quite hard and heavy which means they last longer than some of the lighter softer alternatives. They are quite expensive online and can be purchased for less in some of the price cutter shops if you keep an eye out.

  • Heatfire Logs dilemma

Tried this product and whilst I love the Output and convenience. I have worked it out that the cost per day is nearly 4 times that of Smokeless coal. Its really sad to say but looks like I'm stuck on coal for the coming winter. It would be really good if the suppliers gave a bigger discount for volume ordering. I would so love to be able to afford to use this product but my pension won't streeeeeetch that far !!!!

  • compresed wood fire logs.

Burn easily..logs are smaller than I would like. Dont last very long. Okay , but will need extra wood/ logs for real heat or long burning.

  • Reliable heating

I find the logs burn well in my mixed fuel stove, the room feels warmer and the packs can be quickly unwrapped without making a mess. I do think they are a bit expensive, since they disappear so quickly, but that is probably a sign of the times!!

  • Good way of starting the fire

Gets the fire going quickly and is essentially using bits of wood waste so reasonably eco-friendly (aside from the larger matter of how often we should be lighting a fire, of course).
