A nice little box that emulates the effects of a Leslie rotary speaker cabinet. I use it on my keyboard only, but chose it over the G as I can use it for guitar as well. Closest sound to a real leslie speaker. At $399 it's a little overpriced for my liking, but is less expensive than other brands. A good choice. I'm happy with it.

This is the 90's green metal box version. I owned a brand new one in the mid 90's and sold it only to come back and buy two more about 15 years later. They have a very nice sound very reminiscent to a 70's Hendrix or Pink Floyd swirl sound. I do not see any volume drop like I have read on line, like I said I own two used small stones at the moment. If you hook it up backwards then you loose volume and the pedal still sounds like it is working. If everything is hooked up correctly then I did not notice any volume drop at all. Sound really nice playing chords, leads and arpeggios. Very simple to use! The two pedal I own are identical in looks but do sound a little bit different when I turn the speed up on the pedals they both have that one exact sweet spot at moderate speed. Very heavy and psychedelic sound in my opinion. At the monkey I'm buying this particular model with shipping for about $110. Very reasonable in my opinion.Read full review

Good, organic analog phasing sound. The pedal has two modes, normal and color, making it two phasers in one. The normal mode is a solid phasing sound that doesn't overpower your signal allowing you to have it on for extended periods of time. The colored mode is a deep, low and sweeping phase that has a highly distinctive sound and you'll certainly know it's on. From my experience, the colored mode works better with clean tones. The chassis is made of Russian military-grade parts and is literally bullet proof. I would be more afraid of blowing a tire if I ran it over with my car. The main weakness of this pedal and many other old EH pedals is the slight volume cut when activated. I plan on buying a simple volume boosting pedal to throw next to it.
Unlike some other phasers, the Small Stone does NOT have to be an in-your-face phase assault, rather enhancing your sound with a smooth phase oscillation instead of taking it over with a huge 'phaser sound.' Even on bass it sounds clean and pleasant, and switches on and off much more smoothly than you'd expect. Not as many options as a comparably valued digital phaser or a high-end analog unit four times the price, but in terms of sound quality alone this one is almost impossible to beat, if a more transparent phase shift is what you're looking for. If not, you might look into something like a MXR Phase 90.
The big muff pi is legendary. The deluxe version is a great value. The deluxe version includes an additional foot switch to overlay the additional effect which is an improvement from the big muff pi with tone wicker because that one uses a finger switch to kick it in. It also has a built in noise gate which is quit powerful so thats one less extra pedal to worry about. After doing lots of research and watching alot of youtube reviews I decided on the deluxe version and I am glad i did. This version also includes a space for an expansion pedal that i jave not tried die to lacking a pedal but in youtube reviews it sounds awesome.

This little phaser is great. Having used some of the other expensive phasers out there this one has to be the best for the price. I use this through a series of other pedals with a yamaha vss-30 toy keyboard to recreate the keyboard into a full blown vintage synth sound. So far this phaser has the best vintage sounding effect to create the analog synth sound with the toy keyboard
Dollar for dollar your either going to buy a Small Stone or a MXR Phase 90. You can also do what I did, buy both! What I did not do is waste my money buying new products. You can find either used for around $50. You will be happy with either unless your chasing a tone impossible to recreate without thousands of dollars invested in recording studio time and engineering.
the tracking is incredible, and hold up very well on bass guitar. The added attack, LP filter, and detune effects make for an incredible versatile pedal that inspires songwriting. No ragrets with this purchase
