I used to disdain delay pedals. I once had a Boss DD-2 or DD-3, but've always thought they were expensive and useless, at least compared to reverbs, and it only got worse when I got into digital recording, with its unlimited possibilities. So why did you buy this pedal, you may ask. I bought it because of its loop function, which is exactly what I was after: it starts recording and playing back immediately after you press and release the pedal, respectively. It only adds to it that the sound quality is absolutely transparent - there's no audible diff when it's on. Now, I obviously tried the many delay types, only to find they're actually pretty useful, maybe because of the said transparency - it doesn't *fight* your sound, like many pedals do. Worth mentioning is the pedal good feel - it's very solid, and the knobs sweep nicely - and it's also a plus the bunch of accessories it comes with. All in all, a high-quality, pretty fun pedal. Lucky me I got one. Now I should stop writing before people think I've been paid to do this.Read full review
1 of the best pedal delays I have owned. even though I have been faithful to Boss since the early '80s-my MIJ CE-2 is still on my board & has NEVER let me down-I gotta be honest!! this thing blows the DD models away-esp. the reverse function...the Boss is ok for clean playing, but this pedal excells using that function clean, & really nails "dirty" Hendrix type backwards stuff-ala "Are You Experienced"!!! take some time to get used to ALL the functions-using your rig-& i think you will not be disappointed...like I said-this comes from a dedicated Boss user...give it a try!!!
The hardwire line of pedals are the best kept secret in the tone zone. I have tried all the expensive "must have" pedals and the hardwires are just better. This delay pedal has great delay sounds and the looper is simple and easy to use, perfect for practicing leads over rhythm. Collect the whole set!!

In a world that is flooded with both cheap and outrageously priced effect pedals, the DL-8 has a perfect blend of cost and great performance. It does an excellent job of digital echo, has an 8 second loop function, and it's easy to find your sound. I use it either alone as my delay, or I use the loop function in conjunction with a separate analog delay, and it gets me the sound I want.
I had a memory toy but after purchasing this Digitech Hardwire delay and using it for a couple days I sold the memory toy. This Hardwire delay will out do the memory toy 10 to 1. I like it a lot and it is built rugged. Will last a long time.

Great pedal. I was looking for a pedal that could loop and layer as well as have different delay effects on it. So a guy from Guitar Center told me about this one. I tried it out and was impressed. I use the loop feature a lot for live performances for building up noises. The only drawback i wish this pedal had was a feature where you can delete certain layers of the the loops. But besides that i like it.
Excellent delay and looper pedal. very easy to use with plenty of delay options. Multiple looping option is a plus as well!
If it's good for Luke? Why not. Great.
