It delivers consistent, superior quality optics in what is generally considered a basic item. This 8-Point rifle scope offers more high-quality features than others in its class. At a weight of only ten ounces, it is as light as the proverbial feather. These scopes set a new standard in reliability, with many of its features exclusive to Simmons.The company's exclusive Quick Target Acquisition (QTA) eyepiece helps maintain a constant eye relief, which, at 3.75 inches, is the distance between the eye and the eyepiece. This provides a larger field of view while preserving a clear optical focus. It allows for movement in any direction and still maintains a fast sighting. This means greater accuracy when shooting uphill or downhill or from an uncomfortable position.The Simmons rifles scope is mountable on and fully adaptable to a variety of weapons. It will handle everything from small-bore, small game rifles to big-game bolt-action or semi-autos. It will even work with muzzle loaders, slug guns, and air and airsoft rifles. It measures 12.25-inches long.The Simmons rifle scope has a magnification of three times to nine times normal size. The lowest setting allows for a better field of view and faster target acquisition and is recommended for general use. A higher setting is used for controlled shooting from a fixed position, such as a deer stand or a range platform. Its field of view at 100 yards is 31.4 feet maximum and 10.5 feet minimum.How well it performs in low light is determined by the scope's exit pupil feature. The higher the number, the better the low light vision. It's calculated by dividing the objective diameter, which is 40 millimeters by the magnification. The human eye can dilate from around 7 millimeters in darkness to about 2 millimeters in bright light. The Simmons 3-9x40mm scope gives an exit pupil of over 13 millimeters, making it ideal for low-light conditions.The Steel-on-Steel TrueZero fingertip windage and elevation adjustment system allows you to keep a zero point through multiple hunts. This, along with the TruPlex reticle, makes for fast and easy sighting. The rugged one-piece black matte tube construction, nitrogen-purged, makes the Simmons scope shockproof, waterproof, and fog proof. It is constructed with internal seals and special lubricants. The ingenious ball-bearing and spring system design makes it strong, durable, and stable.The multi-coated, high-quality optical glass provides for sharper, high-contrast visuals, remaining unchanged in a wide range of weather conditions. These completely sealed optics can handle the scorching heat of the desert. They stay focused in the sweltering humidity of the tropics. They will even withstand the bitter cold of a glacial mountain at high elevation.Built to withstand a lifetime of hunting while requiring minimal care, there is no maintenance needed. To clean the lenses, use compressed air of a soft brush to remove dirt and dust.
