The Leupold Target Rifle Scope model VX-3 6.5-20x40mm EFR is designed for target shooters at an Olympic level. EFR stands for Extra Focal Range. This product was originally designed for use as an air-rifle scope to be used in competition. The requirements change for target scopes compared to rifle scopes, whose primary purpose is for hunting. Target shooters need to make fine adjustments based on the actual conditions at the range. This is necessary for competition when time becomes a factor along with accuracy. These minor windage adjustments must be easy to make to accommodate the wind conditions.Leupold is the acknowledged leader in the manufacture of fine optical instruments. This 6.5-20x40mm is the best available choice for .22 rimfire or air rifle target practice or competition. The riflescope features fine craftsmanship, clear optics, and attention to detail. The VX-3 adds durability to the metal of the scope by the application of a coat of a product, DiamondCoat. Fully waterproof, this is the perfect addition to the dedicated target shooter's rifle. The Leupold waterproofing is partially due to the use of Argon and Krypton gasses used in construction. This also allows for the lenses to remain fog proof in humid conditions. With the Xtended Twilight lens system, you will see clearly even in low-light settings.The VX-3 gives the shooter additional enhancements, including a tactile power indicator. It helps the shooter to ensure a close-range estimation as well as providing comfortable positioning. The objective and eye lenses of the Leupold riflescope have removable blackened rims. Keep these in your accessories bag when not being used. These allow for optimal light to reach the user's eye when peering through the eye lens. They also serve to reduce eye strain. The VX-3 comes with a choice of either black matte or silver finish. You will notice the signature Leupold golden ring positioned at the front of the scope.The VX-3s target turrets are under screw caps. They are adjustable by hand once the screw caps are removed. The turrets allow you to make adjustments to the bullets flights and trajectories at the target. These are the kinds of adjustments that are key in competitions.This target riflescope is constructed using high-quality optical glass lenses. These specially finished and produced glass lenses having little or no distortions. The adjustments for elevation and windage are easily made while the shooter's eye remains on the target. This riflescope is designed with large, easy to reach, and adjust windage and elevation knobs. The crosshairs, the duplex reticle, is designed for target practice. The target shooter has a reticle with evenly spaced dots or hash markets along the vertical and horizontal axis lines. These allow for the immediate factoring in of the windage and elevation adjustments.Target shooting is a precise sport and must be practiced at outdoor ranges utilizing long-barreled heavyweight rifles. lightweight, scope compliments rifle
The 6.5x20x40 varmint Leupold is easy to use. Side parallax makes for easy and faster focus than a AO. 40mm bell makes overall weight of hunting setup lighter. Plenty of power range in variable settings. Makes for quick zeroing at 100 yds. With the varmint reticle no need to zero scope high as it has windage and range marks inside the scope. Focus Range
There is no other scope on the market that will focus, crystal clear, from 6.5 to 20 power down to 9 meters ( about 28 feet). No surprise here though. Because it's a Leupold you can always be assured that it will do everything as advertised, and be guaranteed for life, whether your the first owner or the tenth.
