Almost essential . . .
Almost essential when trying to hold small parts, the iron and the solder! Clamp either the part(s) or the solder wire. Fairly solid bit of kit for the money but probably only for occasional use.

LED Soldering Iron Stand Helping Hands Magnifying Glass Magnifier
This product is very sturdy and has great magnification when you need to just look at circuit boards and soldering joints in more detail. Have the LED light is also brilliant as you can have the light on when conditions are dull making it hard to see the components and circuits board.
