Nice inexpensive kettle with temperature setting
I was reluctant to buy a kettle which wasn't made by a well known brand, but I read good reviews about this one and the price was right, so I decided to give it a try. Overall, I am quite happy about my purchase. I purchased this as a replacement for my Tefal temperature control kettle which died after many years of service (it was 4-5 times more expensive than this one).
Pros: This kettle is a 3kW, and boils quite a bit faster than 2.2-2.4kW kettles which are more common. It has a temperature setting which is also a convenient feature: you can heat the water to 50, 70, 80 or 90 degrees. Build quality is good, it is made of stainless steel and did not have any plastic small or other odors whatsoever.
Cons: Most of the cons I mention here are in comparison with the much more expensive Tefal kettle I had before: 1. This kettle does not have the handy current temperature reading, it was handy to know the temperature of water when the kettle stayed for some time after boiling. The current temp could have be indicated by the LED color without increasing the cost (color LED is already there, so this would have been a software thing) 2. The controls on Tefal were more ergonomic due to its curvier shape. I could control it from any position whereas on this one I need to turn it on the base to face the handle, click the temperature setting button several times to select the desired temperature and then press the power button to start the heating. No big deal, but comparing with the other kettle I had, that was more convenient. 3. Workmanship quality of the plastic base seemed a little bit better on Tefal, but the difference is really very small. Also this one seems more noisier, but that may be due to higher power of the heater.
Overall, this is a very nice buy for the price.
