A MicroSaver® 2.0 secondary lock secures peripheral accessories featuring the standard size Kensington security slot. Common across all of Kensington’s latest locks, so there’s only one keying system to manage.
I was looking for a lock for my company Surface Pro tablet that I need to use when out and about in London. Kensington locks have a good reputation and I was pleased that they did one for the Surface Pro tablet. It looks a quality item and it is easily fitted to the rear stand of the tablet. It would have been better if Microsoft had built in a standard lock recess but perhaps this was not possible due to size restrictions. It can be a little fiddly locking and unlocking it because of the short distance between the cable entry and key but you soon get used to it. This should easily stop opportunist theft unless they are prepared to break / rip the stand from the rear of the tablet. If left unattended and out of site for many hours then there is always the possibility that someone could disassemble the stand from the back of the tablet and take it. However I would not be leaving my tablet in that situation. The lock/keys have a unique number that you register with Kensington to enable the warranty.
