Perfect solution for cars with neither an AUX socket or bluetooth a2dp.
I own an early Alfa Giulietta which although it has Blue&Me hands free doesn't actually support A2DP and also doesn't have an AUX socket (so you can't plug in an adapter). If like me you like to listen to Spotify then that can be quite annoying
There are a vast number of FM transmitter solutions to this problem which work by broadcasting to the cars radio but the performance is invariably dire (the concept of broadcasting from within a Faraday cage is a silly idea to start with!). This product overcomes this drawback by functioning as an FM modulator directly injecting the signal into the radio's rear FM input. The audio quality will therefore be as good as the best FM radio station you can receive. One nice feature of this unit is that when in use it blocks input from the aerial so there's no inference, or at least very little, from strong local stations. The unit switches in and out of the system automatically (if no input then it turns off) but a manual switch is included should you prefer it.
Input to the system is via the bluetooth A2DP protocol. So in my case that means my phone is now connected to the car both via the 'hands free' AND 'a2dp' protocols.
All the installation work is behind the car's dash so there are no messy wires to degrade the factory look of the vehicle's interior (other than if you fit the on/off switch)
In use I've found the system to work pretty much flawlessly and can certainly recommend it.
