    The Story so Far

In my opinion this is a great little machine for the price. The sanding wheel guard is plastic and the quality and fitting isn't that good. The mitre is also plastic and the same comment applies. The base could do with some holes punched into it so that it can be bolted to a bench, I have had to drill some in mine which I presume will invalidate the warranty, but I like any machine to have the option of being fitted in this way even if it is only whilst in use. I have replaced the bolts that secure the mitre table to the machine. The table can be used in two positions and is locked into place with bolts that need to be tightened with a spanner. These now have Bristol bolt handles fitted so no tools are required when you want to re-position the table. The sliding bars that are used to hold the table in place are round and really needed a flat edge filing on them to allow the bolt a more secure surface in which to lock onto. The belt table is held in position be two bolts that require the use of a spanner, ( spanned and allen key are provided). I am looking to find a way of fixing so that no tools are required to move the angle of the belt. The dust extraction outlets are quite difficult to get a vacuum attached but I am still working on this, at the moment I am using a free standing extraction unit. These are all small issues that could have been dealt with when the machine was designed, as the cost implication to the manufacturer would be too much different if any. I am still pleased with the machine as I know you get what you pay for and this was a great price at the end of the day. The alterations I have made have more than likely invalidated the warranty but in my view is worth it. Every workshop needs a sanding machine of some description and this is certainly worth looking at for a first time buy. I would/have recommended this machine as it is what I expected.

  • Most critical review

Mediocre quality but was cheap so mustn’t grumble too much...

This is a very cheaply made machine. The belt drive hub and shaft run out of true and it spat off the non-driving side bearing after a short amount of use. It is OK for light use only. The disc is OK but the rest is flimsy and difficult to set. However it does the job for occasional DIY use. Not easy to hook up a vacuum cleaner and I had to tie the suction tube on with string.

  • Better than expected.

My old sander/grinder gave up the ghost after many years and much abuse and I really struggled to find one a: in my budget b: that would do the job. I read reviews, watched YouTube reviews and decided, though more due to budgetary limits, I went for this one. I have to say that I'm really pleased with it. It's not too fast to rip too much material accidentally and it does exactly what I need it to do. My only criticism is the dust extraction from the belt is right underneath so it means that the belt cannot be used flat with the vacuum attached, but I use is partially up anyway so no big deal. Yes. It works for me using it daily. I like the build quality and setting up was simple. Thinking of getting one? Why not?

  • Very good value for money.

I checked the Ferm 375 against other makes and found not only was it far cheaper but the spec was pretty much the same. Although not a industrial machine it stands up to my workshop use on the belt sander and disc. The RPM are more than adequate to deal with my use of timber and metals. The adjustable belt sander makes life a lot easier and comfortable to use. The disc sander has a angle gauge which also is a good feature. Overall I am extremely pleased with the machine, and yes I would recommend it to other potential purchasers.

  • TootB Tiles

I wanted a tool to remove the sharp edges and corners of my own unique non rectangular ceramic tiles. After using various hand held sanders this proved to be a major improvement.

  • Term belt and disc sander

A good piece of kit, at a good price. Fairly easy to put together, the instructions could be better especially how to raise and lower the belt sander. The motor seem powerful enough for the job and size is right for my workshop. Overall, excellent! Alreàdy looking for other Term products.

  • Good unit that performs well

Placed in the students workshop and has performed well. Would recommend to anybody who needs this type of machine.

  • Good budget sander

Just the same as every other sander that looks the same but has different brand or colours. Satisfactory for hobby work, but for more, you'll need something a bit more powerful.

  • Disappointed

Changing the belt is a fiddle. If you don’t put wax polish on the bed the slightest pressure on the belt stops it. It would be difficult to design a worse product. I am selling it and buying a far superior machine from Lidl which is cheaper.

  • Powerful but lacking on instructions

powerful but awkward to change the belt sander. Even the instructions did not tell you how, so I got instructions online for another model
