Old school
This is really old school and needs to be updated . It strictly relys on the hearing of the clock repair person to determine if the clock is in beat . Clock repair people have used this method for years but in this day and age there are much more accurate methods . If this devise could be attached to your phone and a visual app so that you could tune the clock electronically in my opinion then it would be a lot more useful but as it is now it is just a 5 out 10Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

I should of bought this two years ago!
I hate to plead ignorance, but after repairing clocks for several years, and sometimes using a stethoscope to listen for the beat I came across this device. Wish I would of known about it earlier. It's a must for anyone working on antique clocks, how else can you hear the beat without having your ear up to the mechanism, once the mechanism is in the case. It's easy to hear the mechanism in a stand, but once in the case behind the dial, that last 1/16" adjustment that may be needed, had been so difficult.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
