This is a very decent entry into the Batman Arkham game series. While sometimes the combos don't work or skins won't load, it has a good story and the difficult but compelling gameplay makes up for what it lacks. I have no purchased any of the Add Ons for this game. I'm old school and believe a game should be loaded with everything needed for the game, so I don't waste my money on the little extras. However, this game doesn't need the little extras. As an 'open world game,' you can go from spot to spot as you like without directly having to tackle the challenges required to push forward through the storyline. There are flaws to this. Some buildings can't be scaled, most can't be entered, and there are areas that you can't access beyond a certain point. Even with the map, it's pretty easy to get turned around and thrown off course. I would have enjoyed the Batman storyline and the Catwoman storyline being able to be played separately instead of having my game interrupted by Catwoman when I'm making progress. Still, the game is highly addictive, sometimes frustrating, and pretty fun.Read full review

2009 was one of the best release years in video game history. But one game in particular took everyone by surprise – Batman: Arkham Asylum. It shattered the stereotype that all comic book-themed games are lackluster and went on to become the greatest comic video game ever. This week’s sequel had a lot to live up to, and it definitely rose to the occasion. In fact, this sequel is so good, I think it will dethrone the original as “the greatest comic book video game ever.” The game is just so well made, from graphics and gameplay to story and features, it’s highly polished and an easy contender for Game of the Year. When you’re not taking on ten dudes at once like a one-man army, you’re using awesome gadgets and stealth tactics to solve the current problem. The game makes you appreciate the fact that Batman is more of a detective than superhero. Additionally, weaved throughout the story are levels where you play as Catwoman, which keeps the game fresh and prevents it from getting too repetitive. I could go on for hours about why the game is amazing, but I'll keep it short and just tell you that you need this game now. Bottom Line: Regardless of whether you are a Batman fan or not, Arkham City is an awesome game that anyone will fall in love with. It’s an easy contender for Game of the Year.Read full review

One of the best games I've played. I loved everything about the first Batman (especially the "Free Flow Fighting" system. This one has all of that and then some! The map is about 5 times bigger than the original, lots of new gadgets and PS3 users get Catwoman free, and not just as a challenge map character - her story intertwines seamlessly with the main game, plenty of play as her character without it being so much or so long that it becomes a distraction. Picks up where the original left off, but not so dependant on the original story line that you'd HAVE to play the first to fully appreciate this one. Lots of villains / bosses, and a lot of side missions, many with their own story lines & bosses. There's so much to do in this game, and the door's open for what I'm hoping will be more story-based DLC. Downloadable Robin & Nightwing challenge maps; what's so amazing is each of the 4 characters not only have their own gadgets & moves, they all have a totally different feel when controlling them. Different timing and movements all together. Lots of fun "getting to know" each character & developing your skill, and the 'Predator' challenges are different for each, catering to their unique skills and gadgets. I don't have a single complaint about this game - perfectly challenging. I got it when it first came out in October, and JUST finished it 100% (including all of the DLC, trophies, etc.). I'm still not ready to part with it! Don't think twice - get this game NOWRead full review

Batman: Arkham City is rated as one of the BEST GAMES EVER (at least on the PS3 console). I have to agree with that. For players who love open-world games (GTA, Red Dead, Redemption, Assasin's Creed)... Arkham City its a place where exploration seems infinite. The games missions are fun and the way the game is designed, the way you control Batman, it completely makes you feel like YOU ARE BATMAN. It has lot of fighting action but also gives a lot of importance to the "Predator" side of Batman, which is like the game Hitman, where you have to be silent and sneaky and get the goons without being seen or heard. If you like Batman and these types of games, you'll definetly LOVE ARKHAM CITY... DEFINETLY ONE OF THE BEST GAMES I've ever played!!
Great game,One of the best ever! Highly recommended!
