"Tough on batteries"
About the only thing I like about my Garmin Approach G3 is the size. I also own a SkyCaddie and it is bigger but quite easy to read and accurate. The Garmin G3 also runs out of battery faster than my SkyCaddie. I am not happy with the Garmin G3 and plan to return the item. The Garmin G3 might work fine on a sun shiny day but it is difficult to see the stats otherwise. Not 'lighted' enough for me. My SkyCaddie is 10 yrs old but the display is bright and easy to read. I had a lot of trouble with this unit. The screen was not bright enough to see plainly, and found myself squinting at it. It was difficult to find the screen I wanted, and most of the time, seemed to find it by accident, then couldn't reproduce it the next time. Finally. The yardage was inaccurate by 10 yards or more most of the time, based upon built in course yardage markers on sprinkler heads, so couldn't trust it to chose right club when I was hitting from the rough, etc. Ended up not using it at all after 4-5 holes.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Refurbished

Loves to eat batteries.
Nice, well made unit. Instructions show a set of batteries will last about 10 hours. So far I have not made it a regular 18 hole round before the screen dims and it says batteries are low, replace. Issues
When I open the box when it was shipped to me there were 2 sets of instructions neither one in English. I've tried to figure it out while playing at three different golf courses but with no luck. I have asked the people that I've played with for help, but they were unable to help. The view screen size is OK, but very hard to view because of the light screen, I believe the screen color should be more define with brighter backl lighting. for younger golfers

Nice accurate golf gps.
Very accurate distances. I have played 7 courses since receiving the Garmin golf gps and all have come up as soon as it acquired satellite. I use lithium rechargeable batteries that last for 36 holes on a charge. Easy to read in bright sun light.
