One wrong blade
Understand, I am a long time friend of Leatherman. I still have one of the first tools ... plus a Wave, a Freestyle, a Wingman, Micra, squirt and others. Of the
many, my favorite is the Micra. I have one that is "patent pending." Of the other two (all stainless, I think) I have one with the "shell" and one without.
I mention the Micra because it is great as a mini pocket tool. The scissor is the best, it has a sharp blade, a superior nail file, and a tip for cleaning your nails. Even though there are other blades, these are the most important features to me. I was carrying a Victorinox "Gentleman" for years, but the last one I bought did not have a nail cleaning tip. I switched to the Micra.
Along came the CS. The new styling was very attractive. It shares the same powerful scissors and sharp blade. I really appreciate being able to access the knife and file without opening the scissor section. Even though it does not give you as much of a handle as the Micra when using the knife or file, it is more than adequate. The clip is also useful. It seemed to have the best of the Micra. So if this is so fabulous, why did I clip off a star? Leatherman decided to replace the nail cleaner with a small, somewhat useless screwdriver. This is the same killer mistake Victorinox made. To me, this is a portable grooming tool not a power tool. Using the screwdriver for anything more than a tiny thumb screw would certainly damage the blade. A coin could be used.
No, this little guy falls short of perfect. However, I do like it quite a lot and friends are always asking about it. Letterman, please make the small change and wind up in suit pockets all over the world.
BTW: the little tweezer insert is a nice touch.
Even with the small drawback, I would HIGHLY recommend this little guy to everyone!
