The wind deflection works! It’s not a gimic. I cooked outside (under a sideless tarp) in a storm with steady 23mph wind and 30-40mph gusts. TBF I added a windshield but a normal stove would not have coped even with the windshield. It was hard to get the hobs to work at a low heat so I removed the windshield sometimes! In calmer weather no windshield will be needed at all! It boils water faster than any stove I’ve ever used. My last stove had a 2.5kw burner but the 2.2kw on this are quicker because if the efficient design. The grill isn’t great but no diff to most stoves as it follows the standard ceramic design that’s been around forever. Good as a ‘keep warm’ function though - helped me cook a full steak dinner (pictured) complete with onions, mushrooms, garlic baby boils and pepper sauce. I could not have done that in such strong winds on a normal stove. Biggest criticism though- The handle doesn’t feel like it will last. I expect it to break. I’ll live without that or make a nice wooden one. Storing the grill handle is a bit awkward- it goes inside the hob wind deflector when you close it. The feet, although good looking have no grip on a smooth surface. I’m gonna add rubber pads. Overall though it’s a great stove and the hobs are superior than any others I can think of. Such a smart design here. It also looks great. Very aesthetic. There is a pic of the flame in 35mph gusts. Also one with my old windshield which wasn’t big enough to fully protect the right hob nor could I use it on the left at all, so really the stove had very little extra help in extreme conditions. All in all it’s a pity about the downsides mentioned but still better than others. I’m not concerned about the weak handle. Read full review
