BLIND WILLIE JOHNSON on 45 (also ROBERT JOHNSON singing SWEET HOME CHICAGO & WALKIN' BLUES)
Awesome !!! OK...I am sure that there will be purists out there who will trash this review but I'll happily stand by it. The record looks good as well as sounding good. I play these things on my old BUSH SRP 31 with a Garrard deck and the record sounds just brilliant.
I manage to stir up arguments with hi-fi buffs all over the world and I'll always say the same. The most important part of any set up is your EARS. My ears are nearly 60 years old and I've spent nearly 50 of those years playing in loud and lively rock bands, so I'm amazed they still hear anything.
Honestly, I believe this record does justice to it. It sounds right and feels right............ and then there's the SWEET HOME CHICAGO 45 by ROBERT JOHNSON. The exact same thing, absolutely brilliant.
I genuinely believe that these items sound better than the CD equivalent. The other things is the cost. I love playing and listening to music and like most of us I just don't have the odd $10,000.00 for an original 78 so this 45 is seriously the next best thing. I absolutely love it and can't recommend it strongly enough. Just buy a copy, stick it on your record player and a piece of history.
