Brilliant shoe stretchers
I bought a pair of ECCO boots in a sale ( only but ECCO ) I take size 42, these were 41, and I loved the style etc; Ecco usually give a wide fit, and I felt comfortable in them, but as I have a bunion, this caused discomfort in the boot. Reading that these stretchers can even stretch up a size beyond your usual, I decided to give them a trial. After two days being stretched ( decided to do both boots, although only one needed stretching ) I was amazed at the results, The boots were indeed stretched and the bunion was just slightly painful after wearing boots all day. Decided to give them another stretch for two more days, one week later, absolute comfort all day, I bought a spray of leather softner as well, this I assume helped the stretching process. I have knocked off a 'star' rating because one of the wooden stretchers split. I glued it back together, and these stretchers are ready again for any more shoe/boots I might find on the tight side. A good buy at a VERY reasonable price. Must point out, the boots are only a little higher up the ankle than shoes, for 'high' boots, I think a pair designed for higher boots would be required.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Excellent product spoilt by poor assembly
The stretchers were good value because they were half the price of another set I bought for my wife; however my wife's set were better made. It was frustrating that this set could have been excellent value for money if only they had been put together properly. The end of the threaded shaft has a cone shaped plastic cover screwed on. This is glued to the shaft. However the glue used was either the wrong sort of not enough or a combination. On the first trial the wooden shapers nipped the plastic cone and held it firm so that it was left in the assembly. I had to take both assemblies apart and glue the cones correctly onto the shaft; now they are fine but presumably a number of people could not have been bothered to do this or may not have had the right tools or knowledge to do it. Ridiculous that something so simple and basic can spoil an otherwise excellent product.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Works!
Simply works, I am using it to elongate a rather small leather shoes. It has been in there for a week. It looks like it is working and flex the shoes probably by half a size. One minor problem is that the actual instep is quite thick, if you have a flatter type of shoes, you may struggle to put the tree in. Vintage Shoe stretcher
Vintage so sturdy, my bunion says thankyou. Stretch slowly dont rush it, tighten till snug leave for week then crank up, one notch at a time. Once stretched, leave in so leather can't shrink back.
