A 2-part hinge jig, portable template set designed for recessing hinges in wooden doors and frames. It is easy-to-use with minimal setting-up time, completing the job both accurately and quickly. Used on-site and in joinery shops to increase productivity with excellent results. Four apertures for fire door requirements. No need for marking out in the conventional way. Quick and simple to set-up as the hinge is used as the pattern. Clean and accurate recesses are achieved every time. Suitable for timber based doors and square butt hinges. Use with a light-duty router with 1/4 inch collet. Long reach router cutter required, 12 mm diameter with 70 mm overall length. Angled position slots to prevent creep. Hinge sizes possible: Length min: 2 5/8 in (67 mm). Length max :5 in.

carpentry for idiots
superb product, great turn around in delivery, so easy to use as once size of hinge is set up which takes no time at all, then can be used for both left hand and right hand hung doors without the need to alter jig, excellent results, would recommend purchasing a light weight trend router as the base size and plunge action is great on it, corner chisel included in the kit is great although you can purchase hinges with rounded edges which look even betterVerified purchase: YesCondition: New

Value for multiple doors (even if not a pro).
Fantastic bit of kit! My only gripe being that when the two parts are screwed together the jig should make a useful straight edge but fails because somehow the thread holes are fractionally out. When tightened the jig has a minuscule kink; when not fully tightened, the jig is faintly wonky. Clearly, this is not a problem when held against the edge of a door which, obviously, is how the device is intended to be used. But having a secondary function as a reliable straight edge would have been handy. Ended up purchasing a long spirit level (about time too...)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
