Wynns HPLS Manual Transmission Gearbox Gear Oil Treatment & Stop Leak Additive
I was getting a gearbox oil leak on my 1999 astra after a garage installed a new concentric slave inside the bellhousing which leaked gearbox oil 4 days after they did the job. I figured they must have not renewed the o-ring that fits separately around the base of the slave,so i bought the wynns gearbox oil treatment to try and fix this and go back to the garage if this did not work. It leaked about 20ml every 15 miles (my daily journey) and spread onto the exhaust and you could smell the strong burning oil in the car before i used the wynns stuff,so i thought i would try the wynns gearbox treatment. I dropped the old gearbox oil and put in new fully synthetic comma gear oil 75w 90 1.8 litres and then added the wynns treatment 125 ml squeezing the tube in carefully for about 10 minutes making sure every last drop come out. After about 100 miles i noticed the drip rate decreased as i put a piece of cardboard underneath the car after every daily 15 mile run. At first it used to leak on engine tick over then after about 75 miles in total it stopped doing this altogether,but started to leak again soon after the engine was turned off. Then 100+ miles in total later after the engine was turned off the drip rate started to decrease dramatically. At this moment in time 175 miles i just get a few drops onto the cardboard in total and don't smell the oil inside the car now as there is just a few drips blown back onto the exhaust instead of it being drenched in oil. A massive improvement from when it all started. So it looks like its a slow gradual improvement with the wynns stuff and takes time to fully cure. Hopefully it will totally stop in the future,but still happy if i only end up with just a few drips of oil. I will be happy with that,but expecting it to be fully cured soon.(:-)Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
