These brakes have the best modulation of all the brakes I have used. There quick to apply then very sensitive. The pads these come with are non finned resin. I much prefer the finned metal pads (shimano J04C). But it's an easy swap and everybody has there preference. Make sure to get a bleed kit. Bleeding is super easy even if you shorten the hose. Just screw on the jar fill with fluid and pump the brake while tapping the hose until all the bubbles stop. Here is a couple of pictures of these brakes I installed on my sons specilized RIP rock 24 inch fat bike. It came with mechanical calipers. I have the same brakes on my wife's and my bike.

Great components, but you will need a special tool to install the bottom bracket - it does not fit a standard bottom bracket tool. Be sure you order the right one too as Shimano has more than one version of the adapter.
