Does what it says on the can
Always dubious using something I have not used before. Had a bunch of large Allen keys that had been left in a tin tool box in damp location. Just brushed of the loose stuff and popped them in a plastic box. I then poured in approximately 1ltr of Vapor rust liquid. Made sure all parts were submerged and then left for 24hrs. After 24hrs put on gloves and took the parts out. Wiped all parts dry and sprayed with WD40. Jobs a gooden.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Better for small parts with light rust.
After watching various youtube reviews of this stuff, bought five litres. I had some brake calipers to derust. Cleaned them and degreased them. Dunked them in for around a week. Not the best results and it looks and smells like evaporust is spent.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Good Product - Does the Job - Be Patient
My tip for this product is be patient. I use it to clean tools and vintage items and it can take a bit longer than the advice suggests but nonetheless it does a good job my advice would be to immerse your item for a minimum of 24hrs - 48hrs and you will get really good results. Banish rust [the easy way???]
If you are used to acid type rust removers, switch now, this stuff is so user friendly, kind to skin etc but harsh on rust. Get 5 litres [or more] set up bath, immerse components and relax with a coffee, works quickly [but I tend to leave over night]. Really good thing is that wire brushing seldom gets into the pores of rust and inaccesable places liquid imersion does.Seems to be economic in use [particularly if you wire brush thick flakly rust off first]. Rinse off with hot water, that heats components so they self dry. Then paint/protect immediatly. Says harmless, you can pour down drain [but I dont].Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Dose what it says. Can be used with a mixed meatal item with no detriment to aluminium or copper alloys. Leaves a grey finish that gives limited protection or can be polished bright and oiled. Cleans out pits, cracks and undercuts leaving sound metal. Can be re used time and again for as long as it works, it just takes a little longer. Excellent product- used with sonic cleaner
I’ve used white vinegar up until now, both with and without a sonic cleaning cabinet with mixed results. Decided to invest with this product and the difference is staggering. Far quicker and the finish is much cleaner. For really rusty bolts or casings you should give it more time in the sonic cleaner and I work with 65 degrees heat.
