I bought it for Octoprint (Octopi) to have a preview on my 3D prints. The image is clear, quality is decent, much better than I expected for sure. The zoom feature (red-blue dot on the lens) may come in handy. Works with the RaspberryPi without any additional setup, just had to reboot it to be seen in Octopi. On Xubuntu 18.04 works fine as well. For Windows you need some drivers but I didn't even bother with that as I won't be using it on Windows. For £6 delivered you can't go wrong with this camera, I'm actually considering getting a second one just as a backup.

I bought this primarily to go with my homemade head tracker and the OpenTrack software. For those that don't know, this is a low-cost alternative to the likes of commercial products such as TrackIR. The PS3 Eye has a high frame rate, better than most standard webcams and thus makes it more responsive when tracking movement. For Windows computers you do need to acquire the Code Laboratories driver to make the camera work and I can report that it does so on my Windows 10 (64-bit) machine very well. In fact, I may also use the camera as standard webcam depending on whether I modify it to remove the infrared filter.
