Best Hat Ever
This truly is the perfect hat. It surrounds your noggin with mesh so it's not too hot. It has a brim wide enough to keep the sun off your face but not interfere with sightings of Blue Herons and other wildlife when you're out kayaking. Has a Crocodile Dundee-esque strap so it doesn't blow away. And a size adjustment so it seems like Solar Escape custom made one just for you. I got one at Costco last year, but this year they're carrying a different style so I hurried to get on ebay and bought 3 of the 4 that the vendor had. One for a friend, and two for me so that I'll have one for years to come. Better hurry or before you can get yours you'll find they're made of unobtainium. Good hat to keep sun & rain off head.
It doesn't fit as well as my Tilley (especially, too deep so it rides too low on my head), so I'm working on some adjustments for that. But it has a stiffer, more wind resistant brim, and it's considerably less expensive.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Great hat for man or woman
Simply put, this is a great hat. I love to garden and the Men's Solar Escape UV Outback Hat provides excellent protection. I am a woman, but I wear the Men's hat. It has the vented top. I occasionally put it in the washing machine in a delicates' bag on the gentle cycle. The other great feature is the chinstrap which is a huge help on a breezy day while working in the garden or walking the dog. I really need both hands free and cannot be holding onto my hat. I originally purchased this hat for my husband and he loved it. He has to walk between buildings on the campus where he works several times per day. This hat gives much better comfort and protection than his previous hat. For the first time, the dermatologist found no pre-cancerous spots during his most recent check up. A decent hat for the price...
This is a decent hat for the price. That is, if you don't pay more than $10 to $12 for it. From the looks of the quality, it should last a season or two with regular use. Not the best quality, but for the price I paid it's a good hat for yard work and such. It's pretty lightweight and fairly comfortable and does the job of keeping the sun off your face and neck. Just be careful not to get the leather strap wet or it's likely to break. Better yet, replace it with a cloth cord. When it gets real wrinkled, and it will, I just wet mine a little and stuff a dry towel inside of it while it dries to get a nice wrinkle free shape. All in all, a decent hat, but it's now where the quality of a Tilley or Sunday Afternoon hat. But it doesn't cost near as much either.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New

Incredible value
I had to search for a replacement for a much more expensive Orvis hat that my husband loved, but was no longer available. Figured it was worth the risk to try this one as the price was a fraction of what I paid for the first one.
