    Excellent board for a router or low powered PC

    Running PFSense on this with no issues, however it won't last long as the processor doesn't support AES-NI. Not sure how well freenas would run on this It works well running Linux and ok with Windows, but don't expect anything too demanding. It can just about do 720p video/game streaming, even then I wouldn't recommend it. There's an msata slot (SSD or wireless card), 2 sata 3gbps ports and a PCI slot (not PCIe), a USB 2.0 header, some more USB ports on the back, gigabit Ethernet and more. I'd say this is a great little board if you wanted to run it as a server (without virtualization). There is documentation on the Intel website.

    Cheap, snappy little board

    Not a bad little board, but I couldn't get a 64-bit OS to load on it. That wasn't clear from the description. It's not the end of the world as I'm only going to be using it in a NAS. Having said that, performance was ok with Ubuntu and the 1Gb of RAM supplied onboard.

    Great for home server

    Despite its age, this is a very nice motherboard, with a decent processor for a home server and with a well paired chipset. With a Debian distro + a WD black for laptop, I managed to reduce the idle power to 22W and the maximum is not over 26W. I put it in a case with a 120mm fan undervolted at 5V and the temperature of modo and hdd stay quite low with no noise and almost zero added power consumption.
