A continuation of the Japanese Choro Q series (released in the U.S. as Penny Racers), Gadget Racers is a lighthearted racing game with cute, toy-like vehicles that can be customized as you progress through a series of races and challenges. Winning races earns cash prizes and special rewards, such as parts or a new vehicle body. In all, there are over 130 parts and 50 different bodies to collect.<br><br>More than 40 courses are spread over five distinct areas. Circuit contains paved courses, while Nature features off-road tracks on dirt and snow. Battle emphasizes combat against other vehicles, and Aqua sets its competitions on bodies of water. Finally, Attractions focuses on speed and jumps in environments like an amusement park. Once you complete a normal race on a course, special challenges are unlocked, such as drag races and braking tests, which reward winners with special parts upgrades.<br><br>Gadget Racers' multiplayer mode supports up to four players, with each participant requiring his or her own cartridge. Players can compete directly, exchange records, and trade "bottle gadget racers," which function as personalized ghost racers.
