Besekers, Vikings and Goths with electric guitars and drums
Cantus - Medaeval Pagan Folk. I was expecting something in the contemporary style of Early music (think Naxos Early Music) - boy was I surprised (thankfully very pleasantly surprised). It's like hard rock has met Besekers, Vikings and Goths from ancyent tymes and given them electric guitars and drumkits in addition to the their traditional instruments. It will not be to everyone's taste particularly if you are a purist traditionalist. However, if you want something different in keeping with early music style - this is a must have for your music collection. The only disappointment is that the suggestion was that this cd would be followed by a 2nd cd compilation but nothing so far. However, it is a good introduction to the music and style of the various artists.
