I recently purchased a used Sony DDP-EX50 Dye Sublimation Photo Printer for use at the local clubs. Once the photo is selected and sent to the printer, it takes approximately 60 seconds to have a good 4 x 6 print in hand. Colors are good. You can do 75 prints for approximately $30 ($0.40 each). Being a Dye Sublimation print, spill a drink on it and all you have to do is wipe it off. The print is not damaged. (We demonstrate this to people using the same print over and over and over and the print is still like new). The power cord is built in, so it never gets lost. No printer driver came with this. We have Windows Vista and all I did was plug in the printer and it was ready to use!! With it's small compact size, it transports easily. Simply connect to the computer, plug it in and you're ready to go. I've not tried printing straight from the memory card, but I'm assuming that works simply also. This printer is so good, I've already bought a second one!! HIGHLY recommend this printer.Read full review
I bought this printer as a replacement for a slightly older one that broke (fell off the table). Even though this one is from 2004, it was brand new, in the box. Windows 7 installed it without any help, and it printed perfectly. The ink and paper cartridges are easy to find. The one thing that I did notice, compared to the older model, was that this one is a lot lighter and there is a lot more plastic. But, hey, that older one lasted almost ten years and was flawless. I can't see any reason this one won't do that too!
Price was right and the pictures are great.
