This discrete and portable digital personal assistant contains four physical buttons on the front, just underneath the single-touch display. The buttons themselves serve as quick shortcut buttons. The m500 offers further functionality, being fully equipped with a number of ancillary programs, including a calculator, Palm SMS software, MultiMail software, AOL email reader software, and more. This personal digital assistant operates on the Motorola Dragonball VZ 33 MHz processor, which conveniently operates with the Palm 4.0 operating system. Beyond this, the touchscreen offers a 4-bit display and 16 select shades of gray, providing a 160 by 160-pixel black-and-white display. This digital assistant does an excellent job notifying the user of an important update, such as a scheduling conflict or notification of an important email, utilizing a combination of a vibrating motor, bright LED lights, and an auditory alarm. The m500 also offers diverse connectivity, capable of getting the right internet connections when used with a compatible mobile device. In order for the Palm m500 to connect with a desktop or laptop computer via the IrDA port and USB 2.0 port, the personal desktop computer user must install the included software. Once installed, the PDA connects easily and can be managed and updated with ease from a laptop, tablet, or desktop computer. Start a search with Google or select another task for your needs.When this version of m500 devices runs low on battery, the user can simply plug in the device and charge it with the included HotSync cradle. Once the PDA is plugged in, it can be fully charged within 2 hours. Users will enjoy the compact and slim design of the PDA, which weighs in at 4.162 ounces and is 4.49 by 3.02 by .46 inches.
